WestMAC Farm
WestMAC offers a comprehensive Agricultural program where students can gain hands-on experience, skills and knowledge on a working farm within the College campus.
We recognise the importance of Agriculture as part of the broader 21st century sociological, cultural, economic and environmental systems. Our specialist teachers empower students to learn, understand and apply industry best practice.
With an emphasis on beef cattle enterprise, the farm is home to a small Charolais Stud herd and commercial beef herd.
Cattle Show Team
WestMAC’s Cattle Show Team has been operating for over 10 years. Middle and Senior School can students participate in the Cattle Show Team; learning valuable and important skills for preparing and presenting the College’s cattle at various rural shows including the Royal Brisbane Show (Ekka).
Our students demonstrate their commitment to the Cattle Show Team by attending training on a weekly basis in their own time after school and on weekends.
The students take great delight in showcasing their skills, knowledge and professionalism. Students benefit from participating in their commpetitions and have been awarded many accolades, including State Finalists for Young Judges and Young Paraders Competitions.
